Dear Parents and Pupils,

First Day Arrangement – 12 September 2021

Hope this email finds you well and safe!

Apologies for another newsletter. We have managed to hold further discussion with the Boys’ School’s site manager. Please read the following procedures for this coming Sunday 12 September 2021. As usual, please contact us if you have any questions:

Drop off and Pick Up Assembly Point

  • Assembly Point will be at the back of school (signage will be around and staff will be by the front car park, side gate and the back of school to direct parents and children);
  • All pupils to assemble at 10:30 for the start of school and return at 12:45pm for pick up;
  • Reception to year 3 – parents / carers to bring your children and collect them at the Assembly Point;
  • Year 4 onwards – parents / carers to drop off / pick up at the side gate or the front car park (please arrange with your children which gate to meet them at pick up time). Staff will be around to direct pupils to the Assembly Point.

Drop off / Pick up by Car

The school has now implemented a one-way system for the front car park. Please enter the school at the bottom of Shepherds Road, drop off and exit via Rickmansworth Road.

Drop off / Pick up on Foot

The side gate on Shepherds Road and the front gate coming up from Rickmansworth Road will be opened for those who are arriving on foot.

Car Park out of use

The front car park will only be used for parents to drop off / pick up.  Parents will not be permitted to stay there during the day, we advise families to use the parking nearby at Watford Station and Cassiobury Park.  Please do not block the flow of local traffic or the entrance of nearby residential properties.

Registration on First Day

All teachers will meet the class at the back of the school. The classes will be taken to their new classrooms and register will be taken at 10:30.

Late arrivals, please look out for our staff by the gates, we will take them to the classrooms.

All fully enrolled pupils will be given textbooks and exercise books; all new trial pupils will wait until parents have confirmed which class to join with school office.

  • All classrooms are provided with anti-bacterial wet wipes & hand sanitisers;
  • Children will be encouraged to wash their hands before entering the classrooms (new washing basins are installed around the school ground);
  • Face mask wearing will be optional for staff and children;
  • If children or staff experience any symptoms of Covid-19, they must not attend school until all symptoms have passed or they have a negative test result (if tested);

Once again, we thank you for your continuous support! We ask you all to be patient with our staff during this challenging start of year. We will review the procedure after the first day and update where necessary.
