Dear Parents and Pupils,

Hope you and family are all well! Time flies even though the last two years have been challenging for us all! I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the staff in our school, who have continued to work tirelessly to deliver face-to-face and the occasional online lessons. Another big THANK YOU to all the parents in supporting your children at home, especially the lower year groups.

I am pleased to see that the number of our pupils has increased steadily for this academic year! We really appreciate your cooperation to comply with the rules which we have to enforce for the Covid safety in and around the school.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you all the following:

  • pupils should arrive at school on time and stay for the entire lesson between 10:30am and 12:45pm;
  • teachers or teaching assistants of the lower year groups (i.e. Reception year to Year 3) will be at the back of the school around 10:20 to 10:25 am to take the children to the classrooms;
  • parents are expected to pick up the children on time;
  • inform the class teacher as early as possible if your child is going to be absent;
  • complete home work every week – we understand learning Chinese is very demanding and challenging for your child(ren), especially the little ones. We aim to provide a happy and fun environment for our pupils to learn and develop their skills in class, while your support and encouragement at home is vital for your child(ren)’s learning;
  • internal assessments – dictations, end of term tests and the final exam in summer all count towards the overall end of year score, which determines whether your child is suitable to move up a year or repeat the year again to reinforce their knowledge for another academic year;
  • communication with staff – if you have any issues regarding your child(ren)’s learning, please feel free to get in touch with the class teacher or myself.

Last but not least, on behalf of our school, I wish you all

Good Health
Good Wealth
Great Happiness
in the Year of the Tiger 2022!

Take care!

Mrs Hutchinson
